Trading terms
Who you are dealing with. Guild Floors is a trading name of JG Floors Ltd. Our contact details are on the contact page and at the bottom of every page of this site.
Surveys and quotations. The survey is free and carries no obligation. The quotation that follows it is fixed: the price we agree is the price you pay. The only thing that changes it is a change to the scope of the work, and we agree that with you before anything moves.
Quotation validity. Quotations are open for thirty days from the date of issue unless we tell you otherwise in writing. Material prices move, and after thirty days we may need to re-check them.
Prices on this website. Any price shown on this site is a guide to help you work out roughly what a job costs. It is not a quotation. Your number comes from the survey.
Preparation. Subfloor condition is assessed at survey and any levelling or preparation is priced then, rather than raised as a variation once work has started. Where a subfloor turns out to hide something the survey could not reasonably have seen, we stop, tell you, and price the difference before continuing.
Access and readiness. We need the rooms clear of anything not agreed at survey, and access on the dates booked. Where furniture moving is agreed at survey, it is included.
Your right to cancel. Where you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our premises, you have a statutory right to cancel within fourteen days. If you have asked us to start within that period and we have, we may charge for what has already been supplied.
Complaints. Tell us. The person who surveyed your job is the person you call, and we would far rather fix something than have you live with it.
